HOW WE WORK

No Surprises, From First Call to Final Walkthrough

Every repair and every new roof follows the same steps, so you always know what comes next.

Most homeowners only hire a roofer a few times in their life, and the process can feel like a black box. Ours isn’t. Whether you need one pipe boot replaced or a whole new standing seam roof, the work follows the same steps: a free inspection, a photo report, a written price, careful work, and a walkthrough when we’re done.

Here’s what happens at each step, what we’ll ask of you, and what you can count on from Texas Specialty Roofing.

Before Any Work Starts

The first visit is free and comes with no pressure. Here’s what it includes.

We inspect the roof and attic

Outside we check the roofing, flashing, vents, valleys and gutters. Inside we look for daylight, stains and damaged decking. A typical home takes 30 to 60 minutes.

You get a photo report

Photos of what we found, with notes in plain language. If your roof doesn’t need work, we’ll tell you.

An honest recommendation

Repair, replace or leave it alone. Replacement only when we can show you why.

A written price

Material, product and color, tear-off, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, cleanup and warranty terms, all in writing.

Insurance, if it applies

If a storm caused the damage, we document it and work with all insurance companies. Your insurer decides coverage.

No pressure to decide

The inspection is free, with no obligation. Take the report, compare quotes, and decide on your own time.

On the Day of the Work

We’ll confirm the schedule ahead of time. You don’t need to be home, as long as we can get to the property.

Your yard is protected

Catch-All netting hangs from the roofline to the ground, with tarps beneath it, so debris lands in the net, not your flower beds.

We check what’s underneath

If tear-off uncovers damaged decking, we stop, photograph it, and give you an updated price before replacing it.

Installed to manufacturer specs

Underlayment, flashing, ventilation and the roof itself go on the way the manufacturer requires, which protects your warranty.

We watch the weather

We only tear off what we can dry in the same day. If weather moves in, exposed areas are covered.

We clean up

We sweep the yard, driveway and beds for nails and haul away the old roof.

A final walkthrough

We walk the finished roof with you and send a photo report of the work, including any decking we replaced.

Our Standards

What stays the same on every job, big or small.

Backed by a Warranty

25 years of workmanship coverage on metal roofs and 10 on shingle roofs, on top of the manufacturer’s warranty. See warranty and service.

Certified and Insured

TAMKO Pro Platinum certified, BBB Accredited and fully insured, with 45+ years of combined experience on shingle, metal, tile, slate and cedar roofs.

Honest About Insurance

We never offer to waive or cover your deductible, which Texas law prohibits, and we don’t act as your adjuster. Here’s why.

Roofing Process Questions

A typical home takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Larger roofs take longer.

For the inspection, someone needs to let us into the attic, and we’d like to walk you through what we found. On install day you don’t need to be home, as long as we can get to the property.

Many shingle replacements are finished in one or two days. Metal, tile and slate roofs take longer. We’ll give you a timeline before work starts.

Damaged decking has to be replaced before the new roof goes on, and it usually can’t be seen until tear-off. If we find it, we stop, photograph it, show you, and give you an updated quote before replacing anything.

We watch the forecast closely and only tear off as much as we can dry in the same day. If weather moves in, exposed areas are covered with underlayment or tarps until we can finish.

We collect a deposit before work starts. The balance is due when the job is complete and you’re satisfied. Monthly payment options are available; see financing.
