WIND DAMAGE ROOF REPAIR · AUSTIN, ROUND ROCK & CENTRAL TEXAS
Wind Damage Is Easy to Miss. We Know Where to Look.
After a windstorm, some damage is obvious: shingles in the yard or a limb on the roof. More often it’s quieter. Shingles that lifted and creased but settled back down, ridge caps that loosened, flashing that pulled away from a wall. It looks fine from the driveway until the next storm drives rain underneath.
Texas Specialty Roofing provides wind damage roof repair in Austin, Round Rock and across Central Texas. We check the edges, ridges and corners where wind hits hardest, photograph what we find, and give you a written price before any work starts. If the damage is wide enough to call your insurer, we’ll tell you.

Shingles Off and Water Coming In?
Move what you can, catch the drip, and stay off the roof. Call us and we’ll get out as quickly as we can to stop the water with a tarp or temporary repair, then make the permanent fix.
What Wind Damage Looks Like
Wind works on the edges first. These are the signs we look for after a storm.
Missing Shingles
Bare patches on a slope or shingles in the yard. Underlayment isn’t meant to be exposed to sun and rain, so these need attention soon.
Creased and Lifted Shingles
A line across the shingle where it folded back in the wind. The seal is broken, so the next gust lifts it again. These are easy to miss from the ground.
Ridge and Hip Caps
Wind pulls hardest at the peak of the roof. Loose or missing caps leave the ridge open to rain.
Edge Metal and Flashing
Drip edge, rake trim and wall flashing can pull loose or bend, letting water run behind them. We refasten or replace them.
Fallen Limbs and Debris
Branches puncture shingles and crack decking. We check underneath the impact, not just the surface, and tarp it if water can get in.
Metal Panels and Trim
Exposed-fastener panels can loosen and lift at the edges. Standing seam usually holds, but its trim and flashing can bend. We refasten and reset them with compatible materials.
Not sure it was wind? Hail leaves different marks. See hail and storm damage repair or our hail damage guide.
Signs Your Roof Has Wind Damage
Call for an inspection if you notice any of these after a storm:
- Shingles, tabs or ridge caps in the yard
- Bare patches or exposed underlayment on a slope
- Shingles that look wavy, lifted or out of line
- Bent or loose drip edge, gutters or flashing
- Shingle pieces collecting at downspouts
- A new leak after wind-driven rain
- A limb that hit the roof, even if nothing looks broken
Look from the ground or with binoculars, and take dated photos. Please stay off the roof: wind-damaged shingles can slide, and a wet roof is slick.

Why Wind Damage Gets Missed
A shingle can lose its seal without coming off, and it may not leak until months later. Here’s why it hides and how we find it.
The seal breaks first
Strong gusts break the sealant strip that holds shingles down. They can flap and crease, then lie flat again.
Edges and ridges take the most
Wind pressure is highest at the roof’s edges, corners and peak, so that’s where we look first.
Older roofs go first
Sun-dried shingles reseal poorly, and a mismatched old patch is often the first spot to lift.
We check seals by hand
We gently test shingle seals along edges and ridges, and photograph any that are creased or lifted.
Shingles in the yard? Read shingles blown off after a windstorm. If water is coming in, call 512-271-6893 and we’ll tarp it first.
Wind Damage: Repair or a New Roof?
Most wind damage can be repaired when the rest of the roof is sound. We’d rather fix what blew off than sell a roof you don’t need.
| Factor | A repair usually makes sense | Replacement is worth discussing |
|---|---|---|
| Where the damage is | One area with a clear cause | Spread across several slopes |
| Roof age | Years of expected life left | Near or past its expected lifespan |
| Repair history | First problem in that spot | Repeated repairs in new places |
| What's underneath | Decking and underlayment are solid | Soft decking or widespread water damage |
| Matching materials | Material is available and compatible | Discontinued or brittle (old tile, slate, shingles) |
| Cost over time | One repair solves it | Repair costs keep adding up |
If replacement does make more sense, we’ll show you why with photos. Learn about roof replacement or read roof repair or replacement?

Wind Damage by Roof Type
Each roof material handles wind differently, so the repair changes with it.
Asphalt Shingle
Lifted, creased and missing shingles. We match color and profile as closely as possible and hand-seal the course so it stays down.
Standing Seam Metal
Concealed fasteners hold up well in wind. We check seams, clips, panel ends, ridge and trim for movement after a storm.
Other Metal Roofs
Exposed-fastener panels can loosen at the screws and lift at edges. We refasten with new screws and washers and reset the trim.
Clay and Concrete Tile
Wind can lift or break tiles at the ridge, hips and edges. We replace broken tiles and check the fastening and underlayment.
Slate
High winds can slip or break slates. We replace them with matching stone and repair flashing without walking on the field.
Synthetic Slate and Shake
Repairs depend on the product line. We identify it and use matching pieces.
Cedar shake repairs are covered on Cedar Shake Roofing, and flat and low-slope roofs on flat roof repair and replacement.
Central Texas Wind and Your Roof
Wind here usually arrives with a storm, so wind damage, hail and leaks often show up together.
Hail
Wind and hail often hit the same roof. If one did, we check for both.
Wind
Spring and early-summer thunderstorms bring strong straight-line winds. Edges and ridges take the brunt.
Heat and Sun
Sun-dried shingles lose their seal strength and lift more easily in the next storm.
Heavy Rain
Once a seal breaks, wind-driven rain gets under shingles that still look flat.
We serve Round Rock, Austin, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander and the rest of our Central Texas service area, from our offices in Round Rock and San Antonio.

From start to finish, the field manager, Daisy, from TX Specialty Roofing kept us informed of our needs and our options. She provided clear photos using drones (both before and after). We had a major leak from the highest point of our roof and we have a VERY steep, high, and unusual tin roof and they were able to address the issues! Pricing was fair and the job was completed within the timelines given. Very professional approach!! Highly recommend!!Posted on Google![]()

Our field manager, Daisy Laguna, was exceptional! Excellent communication and updates provided throughout the entire project. Her team was able to identify other issues within my attic (HVAC leak). They took pictures and video for me to quickly have another professional repair the issue in a timely manner. Zero upselling...a rarity in today's market. Would HIGHLY recommend!Posted on Google![]()

This is a long overdue review for Texas Specialty Roofing. My name is Bernardo. I own a single-story home in a small development near the Leander CapMetro Rail station and the HEB Plus! SHOPPING plaza. My roof was damaged from the crazy May 2025 thunderstorms and hailstorms we had. I worked with Daisy Laguna. From the very beginning, she was very professional and helpful. She walked me through the whole process. When my insurance initially refused to pay for the needed repairs, she helped me go through the public adjuster process. It took a few months, but when all was said and done, my insurance funded half of the costs. Daisy and Texas Specialty Roofing also helped me secure financing at a favorable rate of 0%. The team came to my house early morning and worked efficiently, replacing my entire roof by the end of the afternoon. They also worked on repairing the inside ceiling that had been damaged by the water leaks on the same day, with a follow-up a few days later to get the job done. I cannot say enough how much of a pleasure Daisy and Texas Specialty Roofing were to work with. I highly recommend her and the company. Although I wasn't too thrilled with the cost out of my own pocket, as it is often said, you get what you pay for. The 0% financing certainly was a lifesaver, for sure! This repair happened in November 2025. I am looking forward to not having any issues or problems with the coming rainy season this Spring 2026, knowing that Texas Specialty Roofing installed a solid roof on my house.Posted on Google![]()

The job your company did on our roof was flawless and totally satisfactory. Your installers left our property cleaner than it was on their arrival. The face of your company, Keith and Ridge, came across to us as competent and knowledgeable. Their presentations of your services were genuine and sincere as we later realized . Keith and Ridge are indeed significant assets to your company. It was a pleasure to have met them and thankful we selected your company to do our job. One additional item of interest that occurred on January 17, 2026 was my home owner policy premium was reduced 40% for this year. Kieth and Ridge had informed me.that upgrading to a class 3 composition high impact roofing would reduce my premium. Indeed it didPosted on Google![]()

I am very grateful for Eddy and everyone at this company. I live here in San Antonio, and I met Eddy while outside my home one day, and he was kind and helped me take my trash out. We began a conversation and I explained my roof was leaking. Eddy had a few young gentlemen come do an inspection, and found the leaking was due to the hail and wind damage. They were so helpful and professional. My roof was approved thank you so much. They upgraded me at no extra charge to a Class 3 impact roof and now I am paying less on my insurance premium payments. I am very thankful and I will only call this company to do my roof work and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional job.Posted on Google![]()

This was an amazing experience. After the big hail storm, they happened to be at my neighbors and came by (at his request), thank goodness! They laid out what they did, the materials, and how they had an insurance person who coordinated with our insurance company to make sure everything went seamlessly, which is usually a big headache. Daisy was our contact person, and she went above and beyond to make sure we knew about the whole process, fees, materials, and recommdations on how to apply insurance coverage on areas we didn't realize were damaged initially. If we had any questions or changes, they were all patient and kind to help make things happen. The work was done beautifully, and if we had any concerns they sent someone within 24 hours to go over or fix. They were very considerate of keeping materials and the area safe for my children and pets. I would definitely recommend them...highly.Posted on Google![]()

Metal Roof, Gutter and Garage Doors Replacement Review by Texas Specialty Roofing Overview Recently, we had our metal roof, gutters and garage doors replaced due to hail damage, and we are pleased to share our experience. From the initial consultation to the completion of the project, the process was handled professionally and efficiently. Initial Consultation and Estimate The roofing company came to our house and provided an inspection quickly, synchronizing with our insurance company. The project coordinators, Keith Harvey and Ridge Salazar, were extremely knowledgeable, patiently answered all our questions, and gave a detailed breakdown of the process and costs involved which met our expectations. Project Execution The roof, gutter, and garage door crews all arrived as scheduled and took care to protect our landscaping and property. The removal of the old roof was done swiftly and without unnecessary clutter. Installation of the new metal roof was completed within the promised timeframe, and the team maintained a clean worksite throughout. The same can be said of the workmanship of the replacement of roof gutters and garage doors. Quality of Work We are impressed with the color and the look of the new roof with striations that the contractor recommended as well as the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the crew. After the job, the team performed a thorough cleanup, leaving no debris behind. Customer Service Communication by Keith and Ridge as well as project manager Eddy Iglesias was excellent throughout the project. We received regular updates and prompt answers to our concerns. The company provided clear documentation and warranty information at the end of the job. Final Thoughts Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the results of our metal roof replacement. The new roof, gutters and garage doors not only enhance the appearance of our home but also provide peace of mind regarding protection from the elements. The professionalism, quality of work, and customer service exceeded our expectations. Based on our experience, we would confidently recommend Texas Specialty Roofing to others considering a roof replacement. Wilt & Sylvia ShawShowing our latest reviews

Wind Damage Roof Repair: Common Questions
How do I know if my roof has wind damage?
Look for shingles or ridge caps in the yard, bare spots, wavy or lifted shingles, and bent edge metal. Creased shingles are hard to see from the ground, so an inspection is the surest way. Ours is free.
Can lifted shingles be resealed?
Sometimes. If a shingle lifted but didn’t crease or tear, it can often be hand-sealed. Creased or torn shingles have lost their strength and should be replaced.
Can you replace just the shingles that blew off?
Usually, yes. We match color and style as closely as possible. Older or discontinued shingles can be hard to match exactly, and new shingles look brighter until they weather. We’ll tell you what to expect first.
Will my roof leak if a few shingles are missing?
It may not leak right away, since the underlayment sheds some water. But underlayment isn’t meant to sit exposed to sun and rain, and it breaks down quickly once uncovered.
How soon should wind damage be repaired?
As soon as you can. Missing or unsealed shingles let wind-driven rain in, and the next gust can tear off more. If water is already coming in, call us for a tarp or temporary repair first.
Does homeowners insurance cover wind damage?
Many Texas policies cover sudden wind damage, but coverage and deductibles vary, and some policies have a separate wind and hail deductible. We document the damage with photos and work with all insurance companies. See roof insurance claims.
Should I file an insurance claim for wind damage?
Get an inspection first. If the damage is minor and the repair would cost less than your deductible, filing may not make sense. We’ll tell you honestly what we find.
Do you repair roofs you didn’t install?
Yes. We repair shingle, metal, tile, slate, cedar shake and synthetic roofs no matter who installed them.
