Fast, Honest Roof Repair After a Storm
When a storm rolls through Central Texas, the damage isn’t always obvious from the ground. Hail can crack and bruise shingles, dent metal, and break tile. High winds can lift roofing and loosen flashing. Some of it leads to leaks right away, and some of it shows up months later.
We inspect your roof, document the storm damage, and repair it properly. Most storm damage can be repaired, and when it can, that’s what we’ll recommend. If the damage is widespread, we’ll explain why a replacement makes more sense. We work with all insurance companies and help you understand whether the damage is worth a claim.
Signs Your Roof Took Storm Damage
You don’t need to climb a ladder to spot the warning signs. Please stay off the roof and look for these clues from the ground.
Dents on Metal Surfaces
Dings in gutters, downspouts, vents, and AC units often mean the roof took hits too.
Granules in Gutters
Sand-like granules collecting in gutters can mean shingles were bruised by hail.
Missing or Lifted Roofing
Wind can lift, crease, or tear away shingles, tiles, and ridge caps.
Cracked Tile or Slate
Hail can crack tile and slate, even when it's hard to see from below.
Dented Metal Panels
Large hail can dent metal roofing and damage trim and flashing.
Leaks and Ceiling Stains
Water inside after a storm means water is already getting in.
Not Leaking? Your Roof Can Still Be Damaged.
Hail damage often doesn’t leak right away. Bruised shingles lose their protective granules, and small cracks let water in slowly. Many insurance policies also have deadlines for reporting storm damage, so it’s worth having your roof inspected after every significant hail storm.
Storm Damage Repair or a New Roof?
Storm damage doesn’t automatically mean a new roof. Many storm-damaged roofs can be repaired.
A repair often makes sense when:
- Damage is limited to one area or a few spots
- The roof is otherwise in good condition
- The damaged material can be matched
Replacement usually makes sense when:
- Hail damage is spread across the roof
- The roof was already near the end of its life
- The damaged material can't be matched

Storm Damage Questions
How soon after a storm should I get my roof inspected?
As soon as it’s safe. Damage is easier to document while it’s fresh, and many insurance policies have deadlines for reporting storm damage. If water is coming inside, call us right away at 512-271-6893.
Does homeowner's insurance cover hail damage?
Many homeowner’s policies in Texas cover sudden storm damage, but coverage, deductibles, and exclusions vary. Check your policy or ask your agent.
Can you tell the difference between hail damage and normal wear?
Yes. Hail damage looks different from normal aging, and that difference matters because insurance companies look at it closely. We’ll show you what we find.
What if my insurance claim is denied?
We’ll review the adjuster’s findings with you and explain what we see on your roof. Depending on the situation, your options may include asking your insurance company for a re-inspection.
Can you pay or waive my deductible?
No. Texas law requires you to pay your own deductible and prohibits contractors from waiving or covering it. If a roofer offers to, treat it as a warning sign. Read our FAQ to learn why.
Do I need to replace my whole roof after a hail storm?
Not always. If the damage is limited, a repair may be all you need. We’ll give you an honest recommendation either way.
