ROOF LEAK REPAIR · AUSTIN, ROUND ROCK & CENTRAL TEXAS

Find the Leak. Fix the Source. Keep It Dry.

A stain that keeps growing. A drip that only shows up when the wind blows from one direction. A leak that came back after someone already “fixed” it. Roof leaks are frustrating because the water rarely comes in where you see it.

Texas Specialty Roofing provides roof leak repair in Austin, Round Rock and across Central Texas. We check the roof and the attic to trace the water to where it actually gets in, show you photos of the part that failed, and give you a written price before any work starts. Then we replace what failed instead of covering it with sealant.

Water Coming In Right Now?

Move what you can, catch the drip, and stay off the roof. Call us and we’ll get out as quickly as we can to stop the water with a tarp or temporary repair, then make the permanent fix.

Where Roof Leaks Usually Start

Water gets in at a handful of weak points. Here’s what each one looks like from inside your home, and what we check on the roof.

Pipe Boots and Vents

A slow leak or stain near a bathroom, kitchen or water heater vent. Texas sun cracks the rubber collar around plumbing pipes, and vent flashing loses its seal. We replace the boot or reflash the vent.

Chimneys and Skylights

A stain on the ceiling or wall beside a chimney or skylight. Step and counter flashing that was caulked instead of layered lets water run behind it. We rebuild the flashing so it sheds water.

Roof-to-Wall Joints

Water marks below a second-story wall, dormer or stucco wall. Short step flashing and missing kick-out flashing are common causes. We open the area, add the missing flashing and seal it properly.

Valleys

A leak where two roof slopes meet, often worse in heavy rain. Leaves dam water in the valley, and worn valley metal or badly cut shingles let it in. We clear it, then repair the valley lining.

Wind-Driven Rain

A leak only in storms from one direction. Wind pushes water under lifted shingles, ridge caps and edge metal. We reseal or replace what lifted.

Metal Roof Fasteners and Seams

Leaks along screw lines, at trim, or where panels meet a wall. Exposed-fastener roofs lose washer seals as screws back out; standing seam roofs usually leak at flashing. We repair them with compatible materials.

Shingles aging early or a hot, damp attic? Not every attic moisture problem is a roof leak. Some come from poor airflow or bath fans vented into the attic. We check and tell you which it is. See attic ventilation.

Signs of a Roof Leak

Call for an inspection if you notice any of these:

  • Ceiling stains that grow or darken after rain
  • Bubbling or peeling paint on walls or ceilings
  • Damp or matted insulation in the attic
  • A musty smell in an upstairs room or closet
  • Drips around light fixtures, vents or ceiling fans
  • Daylight through the roof decking in the attic
  • A leak that returns in the same spot after a repair

If it’s safe to get into your attic, take a flashlight up after a rain. Wet wood, dark trails along rafters and damp insulation help us find the source faster. Please stay off the roof.

How We Find the Source of a Roof Leak

A leak repair only works if it fixes the place where water gets in. Patching the spot above the stain is the most common reason a leak comes back, so we trace it first.

We start in the attic

Water trails, wet decking, rusted nails and daylight show where water is moving. The opening is often several feet uphill from the stain.

Then we check the roof

We look at every flashing, penetration, valley and shingle along that path, and photograph what we find.

We ask when it leaks

A leak in every rain points somewhere different than one that only shows up in wind-driven storms.

We replace what failed

Caulk breaks down in Texas heat. We replace the boot, flashing, shingles or fasteners that failed.

Leak Repair for Every Type of Roof

Where a roof leaks depends on what it’s made of. A fix that works on shingles can crack tile or corrode metal.

Asphalt Shingle

Most shingle leaks are at pipe boots, flashing, valleys and lifted shingles. We replace the failed piece and match color and profile as closely as we can.

Standing Seam Metal

Panels rarely leak; flashing, penetrations, trim and ridge do. We repair them with compatible metal and sealants that won’t corrode the panels.

Other Metal Roofs

Exposed-fastener roofs leak along screw lines as washers dry out. We replace worn fasteners and washers and reset loose trim.

Clay and Concrete Tile

Tile sheds most of the water; the underlayment underneath keeps the rest out. A leaking tile roof usually means worn underlayment, so we check it, not just the tile.

Slate

Slate leaks usually start at flashing or a broken or slipped slate. We replace slates with matching stone and repair flashing without walking on the field.

Synthetic Slate and Shake

Repairs depend on the product line. We identify it and use matching pieces.

Cedar shake repairs are covered on Cedar Shake Roofing, and flat and low-slope roofs on flat roof repair and replacement.

Why Roofs Leak in Central Texas

Our weather is hard on the parts of a roof that keep water out.

Hail

Hail cracks vents and bruises shingles, which may not leak until months later.

Wind

Gusts break shingle seals, then wind-driven rain pushes water underneath.

Heat and Sun

Long summers dry out rubber pipe boots, sealants and shingles faster than in milder climates.

Heavy Rain

Sudden downpours find weak flashing and clogged valleys that light rain never tests.

We serve Round Rock, Austin, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander and the rest of our Central Texas service area, from our offices in Round Rock and San Antonio.

From start to finish, the field manager, Daisy, from TX Specialty Roofing kept us informed of our needs and our options. She provided clear photos using drones (both before and after). We had a major leak from the highest point of our roof and we have a VERY steep, high, and unusual tin roof and they were able to address the issues! Pricing was fair and the job was completed within the timelines given. Very professional approach!! Highly recommend!!

Our field manager, Daisy Laguna, was exceptional! Excellent communication and updates provided throughout the entire project. Her team was able to identify other issues within my attic (HVAC leak). They took pictures and video for me to quickly have another professional repair the issue in a timely manner. Zero upselling...a rarity in today's market. Would HIGHLY recommend!

This is a long overdue review for Texas Specialty Roofing. My name is Bernardo. I own a single-story home in a small development near the Leander CapMetro Rail station and the HEB Plus! SHOPPING plaza. My roof was damaged from the crazy May 2025 thunderstorms and hailstorms we had. I worked with Daisy Laguna. From the very beginning, she was very professional and helpful. She walked me through the whole process. When my insurance initially refused to pay for the needed repairs, she helped me go through the public adjuster process. It took a few months, but when all was said and done, my insurance funded half of the costs. Daisy and Texas Specialty Roofing also helped me secure financing at a favorable rate of 0%. The team came to my house early morning and worked efficiently, replacing my entire roof by the end of the afternoon. They also worked on repairing the inside ceiling that had been damaged by the water leaks on the same day, with a follow-up a few days later to get the job done. I cannot say enough how much of a pleasure Daisy and Texas Specialty Roofing were to work with. I highly recommend her and the company. Although I wasn't too thrilled with the cost out of my own pocket, as it is often said, you get what you pay for. The 0% financing certainly was a lifesaver, for sure! This repair happened in November 2025. I am looking forward to not having any issues or problems with the coming rainy season this Spring 2026, knowing that Texas Specialty Roofing installed a solid roof on my house.

The job your company did on our roof was flawless and totally satisfactory. Your installers left our property cleaner than it was on their arrival. The face of your company, Keith and Ridge, came across to us as competent and knowledgeable. Their presentations of your services were genuine and sincere as we later realized . Keith and Ridge are indeed significant assets to your company. It was a pleasure to have met them and thankful we selected your company to do our job. One additional item of interest that occurred on January 17, 2026 was my home owner policy premium was reduced 40% for this year. Kieth and Ridge had informed me.that upgrading to a class 3 composition high impact roofing would reduce my premium. Indeed it did

I am very grateful for Eddy and everyone at this company. I live here in San Antonio, and I met Eddy while outside my home one day, and he was kind and helped me take my trash out. We began a conversation and I explained my roof was leaking. Eddy had a few young gentlemen come do an inspection, and found the leaking was due to the hail and wind damage. They were so helpful and professional. My roof was approved thank you so much. They upgraded me at no extra charge to a Class 3 impact roof and now I am paying less on my insurance premium payments. I am very thankful and I will only call this company to do my roof work and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional job.

This was an amazing experience. After the big hail storm, they happened to be at my neighbors and came by (at his request), thank goodness! They laid out what they did, the materials, and how they had an insurance person who coordinated with our insurance company to make sure everything went seamlessly, which is usually a big headache. Daisy was our contact person, and she went above and beyond to make sure we knew about the whole process, fees, materials, and recommdations on how to apply insurance coverage on areas we didn't realize were damaged initially. If we had any questions or changes, they were all patient and kind to help make things happen. The work was done beautifully, and if we had any concerns they sent someone within 24 hours to go over or fix. They were very considerate of keeping materials and the area safe for my children and pets. I would definitely recommend them...highly.

Metal Roof, Gutter and Garage Doors Replacement Review by Texas Specialty Roofing Overview Recently, we had our metal roof, gutters and garage doors replaced due to hail damage, and we are pleased to share our experience. From the initial consultation to the completion of the project, the process was handled professionally and efficiently. Initial Consultation and Estimate The roofing company came to our house and provided an inspection quickly, synchronizing with our insurance company. The project coordinators, Keith Harvey and Ridge Salazar, were extremely knowledgeable, patiently answered all our questions, and gave a detailed breakdown of the process and costs involved which met our expectations. Project Execution The roof, gutter, and garage door crews all arrived as scheduled and took care to protect our landscaping and property. The removal of the old roof was done swiftly and without unnecessary clutter. Installation of the new metal roof was completed within the promised timeframe, and the team maintained a clean worksite throughout. The same can be said of the workmanship of the replacement of roof gutters and garage doors. Quality of Work We are impressed with the color and the look of the new roof with striations that the contractor recommended as well as the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the crew. After the job, the team performed a thorough cleanup, leaving no debris behind. Customer Service Communication by Keith and Ridge as well as project manager Eddy Iglesias was excellent throughout the project. We received regular updates and prompt answers to our concerns. The company provided clear documentation and warranty information at the end of the job. Final Thoughts Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the results of our metal roof replacement. The new roof, gutters and garage doors not only enhance the appearance of our home but also provide peace of mind regarding protection from the elements. The professionalism, quality of work, and customer service exceeded our expectations. Based on our experience, we would confidently recommend Texas Specialty Roofing to others considering a roof replacement. Wilt & Sylvia Shaw

Roof Leak Repair: Common Questions

We start in the attic and follow water trails, wet decking and stains uphill to where the water enters, then check the flashing, penetrations, valleys and shingles above it. We photograph what we find so you can see it too.

Leaks that show up only in wind-driven rain usually come from lifted shingles, ridge caps, edge metal or wall flashing that lets water in when rain hits from one direction. A leak in every rain more often points to a cracked pipe boot, a worn valley or failed flashing.

Usually, yes. Most leaks come from one failed part, such as a pipe boot, a flashing detail or a few damaged shingles. If the rest of the roof is sound, a repair is the right call. We’ll tell you if it isn’t.

Rarely. Caulk and roof cement break down in Texas heat and often just move the leak. We use sealant where it’s meant to go and replace the failed boot, flashing or shingles.

As soon as you can. Even a small leak can soak insulation and decking and lead to mold or rot. If water is coming in now, call us and we’ll stop the water first, then make the permanent repair. See emergency roof repair.

Most often because the earlier repair patched the spot above the stain instead of the entry point, or covered a failed part with sealant. We trace the leak again from the attic and show you what we find.

If a covered event like hail or wind caused the leak, it may. Leaks from age and wear usually aren’t covered. We document what we find with photos and work with all insurance companies. See roof insurance claims.

What failed, how hard it is to reach, the roof type and pitch, and whether wet decking needs replacing. A pipe boot is a very different job from rebuilding chimney flashing. The inspection is free, and you get a written price before work starts.
