The Last Roof This Austin Home Will Need
This Austin homeowner wanted a roof that would stop the cycle of shingle replacements for good. The single-story home has a long main roof, a front gable over the entry, and a stone chimney sitting right in the middle of the roof plane, where water naturally collects.We installed charcoal gray standing seam metal across the entire home. The panels run continuously from eave to ridge with hidden fasteners, so there are no exposed screws to loosen and no shingles to blow off in a storm. Behind the chimney, we built a metal cricket to divert rainwater around it, then flashed the stone into the new roof. Every vent and pipe was sealed and finished to match.The result is a sleek, low-maintenance roof that handles Central Texas hail, wind, and heat far better than the shingle roofs around it, and gives the home instant curb appeal.
