When a major hail storm hit Round Rock, Brandon’s home took damage from the roof down to the fence. We replaced his roof, which was only a few years old, worked with his insurance company through the claim, and coordinated the repairs to his gutters, garage door, and fence, so he had one team handling all of it.

The Starting Point
The storm left damage all over Brandon’s property. The roof had been hit, and so had the gutters, the garage door, and the fence.
His roof was only a few years old, which is exactly why damage like this gets overlooked. Many homeowners assume a newer roof came through a storm just fine. But hail doesn’t care how old a roof is. A hard enough storm can crack and bruise brand-new roofing, and the damage isn’t always visible from the ground.
For Brandon, the storm meant more than a roof problem. It meant an insurance claim, several different repairs, and the prospect of finding, scheduling, and managing multiple contractors on his own.

Our Approach: One Plan for the Whole Property
Instead of treating the roof as a separate job, we looked at everything the storm had damaged and built one plan around it.
- A full roof replacement. The hail damage on the roof supported replacing it, not patching a storm-damaged roof and hoping for the best.
- The rest of the property, too. The gutters, garage door, and fence were part of the same storm, so we coordinated those repairs alongside the roof.
- One point of contact. We handled the communication with the insurance company and the other trades, so Brandon didn’t have to.
The Work
Documenting the Damage and Handling the Claim
We inspected the roof and the rest of the property and documented the hail damage we found. Then we worked with Brandon’s insurance company through the claim.
A roof that’s only a few years old can be a harder case to make, because it’s easy to assume it held up. Clear documentation of the damage mattered. The claim was approved for a full roof replacement.
Every claim is different, and the outcome always depends on the damage and the policy.
Replacing the Roof
We removed the storm-damaged roof and installed a complete new one.
As part of the replacement, we also added two new roof penetrations. Doing that during a replacement is the right time: the new openings are built into the new roof from the start, instead of being cut into a finished roof later.
Gutters, Garage Door, and Fence
Hail damaged more than the roof. We coordinated subcontractors to take care of Brandon’s gutters, garage door, and fence, and kept the work organized around the roof replacement.
Instead of calling, scheduling, and following up with several companies, Brandon had one team keeping track of every repair.
What This Project Shows
- A newer roof can still be damaged by hail. Age doesn’t protect a roof from a hard storm. If hail hit your area, have your roof inspected, even if it’s only a few years old.
- Check more than the roof. The same storm can dent gutters and downspouts, damage garage doors, and hit fences, AC units, and window screens.
- Documentation matters. Clear, thorough documentation of storm damage helps the insurance company see what actually happened to your home.
- One team is easier than five. When a storm damages several parts of a home, having one contractor coordinate the work saves you a lot of calls and scheduling.
The Result
Brandon’s home has a complete new roof, including two new penetrations built in during the replacement, and his gutters, garage door, and fence were repaired through the same coordinated process. From the insurance claim to the last repair, one team handled it, taking the stress of a storm-damaged home off his plate.
